Our Story
Michael Staton
Founder — The Gentlemen's Syndicate · Ferndale, MI
Michael Staton has stood in a preschool classroom and coached a teenage athlete in the same week. He holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate and has spent years as a preschool educator -- including leading a class independently -- because he believes the foundation of a man is laid long before adolescence.
He is also a football coach. He has stood on the sideline with teenagers who have everything ahead of them and watched the difference between a young man with structure and one without. That gap -- between potential and formation -- is what The Gentlemen's Syndicate exists to close.
Michael is currently pursuing his Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development, with a credential path toward a Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD in Special Education. Every degree he earns is not just personal achievement -- it is institutional credential of this organization's work.

The Philosophy
The Gentlemen's Syndicate was born from a simple but profound conviction: that true greatness begins within the mind. As a man thinks in his heart, so he becomes -- not just in character, but in action, purpose, and legacy.
We are a brotherhood of men who refuse mediocrity. Who choose intentionality over impulse. Who understand that refinement is not vanity -- it is discipline made visible.
“As he thinks… so he will be.” These words, drawn from ancient wisdom, remind us that our thoughts are the architects of our character. Every great man throughout history has first conquered the battlefield of his own mind before conquering anything else.
The 3–18 Continuum
Today, The Gentlemen's Syndicate serves young men ages 10–18. But the vision is bigger.

The long-term architecture of The Gentlemen's Syndicate is a seamless developmental continuum from age 3 to 18 -- because social and emotional development is not a supplement to education. It is the prerequisite for it.
Every program we run today is a brick in the foundation of that continuum. Every young man we form at 10 is being prepared to pour back into the 3-year-olds of tomorrow. The founder who earned his CDA in a preschool classroom is not waiting on someone else to build that bridge. He is becoming it -- credential by credential, cohort by cohort.
